Passionate about the ocean since childhood, Clément Roseyro has established himself today as one of the most complete watermen of his generation. From his beginnings at the Anglet Surf Club to his historic performance at the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge, discover the journey of an exceptional athlete who pushes the limits of what is possible with our eco-designed boards. Clément Roseyro: a waterman at heart
Born in 1999, Clément Roseyro has always been passionate about the ocean. From a young age, he learned the ropes at the Anglet Surf Club. But very quickly, he diversified and explored a multitude of disciplines. Obsessed with waves, he spends his time observing the ocean, whether from the sand, or in the heart of the spots.

The meeting with NOTOX happened when he was 17, through our master shaper and partner Benoît Rameix. Clément then joined our ambassador team, and it was the beginning of a beautiful collaboration. Since then, he has continued to progress and push his limits, becoming today one of the best watermen of his generation :
- Wing foil: Launched in 2020, it is now on the world pro circuit, with a 5th place at the 2023 GWA World Cup.
- Strapless kitesurfing: Vice world champion in 2023.
- SUP: Finalist and 4th at EuroSUP 2023, without forgetting his team world champion title in 2022.

- And of course, shortboard, longboard… No matter the discipline, Clément surfs everything, and with style.

And this is one of the keys to his unique progression: he draws on his experiences in each of his disciplines to progress in the others.
A turning point in his career: the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge 2024
Last year, Clement made a spectacular entrance onto the world big wave surfing scene during the Tudor Nazaré Big Wave Challenge.
Almost unknown to the battalion, the WSL (World Surf League) had even made a mistake about his nationality by presenting him as Brazilian. Needless to say, after this performance, everyone now knows his name (and his country)!

Before arriving in Nazaré, Clément spent a long time perfecting his big wave surfing on the spots of Guéthary and La Nord in Hossegor, before spending several winters on the legendary Portuguese spot. A true Mecca for big wave surfing, Nazaré is the scene of the most impressive feats, such as the record of Sebastian Steudtner, who surfed a 26-meter wave in 2020 (official world record).

On site, Clément trains tirelessly, and his performances quickly attract the attention of Nic Von Rupp, a legend of big wave surfing. Nic then decides to take him under his wing in order to form a team for this prestigious competition, where you have to be invited to participate.

In teams of two, nine teams compete in 2 series of 40 minutes: while one pilots the jet-ski, the other scores the waves, then they switch roles. From the first wave, Clément shows the extent of his talent with a huge frontside carve to go back in the backside and obtains a 6,17/10, which will be the best mark of the series.

For the rest of the competition, Clément and Nic take on waves after waves and accumulate good scores. Final result?
- 2th place individually 🥈 just one and a half points behind Lucas Chianca
- 2nd place by team 🥈just behind the Brazilian duo Chianca-Scooby
This performance also marked our history, that of NOTOX: it is of the best result ever obtained by an athlete on an eco-designed board labeled Gold level by Eco-board in a WSL competition. Since our beginnings in 2009, our goal has been to prove that it is possible to combine eco-responsibility and performance at the highest level. With Clément, we have reached a pivotal stage thanks to years of innovation and valuable field feedback.

2024/2025: Win the title?
After such a remarkable performance, Clément will be expected to deliver this year. The growing chemistry with Nic Von Rupp and his meteoric rise really lead us to believe that the title is attainable, both individually and as a team.
For this new season, we haven't done things by halves in terms of equipment. Clément has three new tow-in boards, all custom designed to adapt to the different conditions it will encounter:
- A prototype board with an agave core reinforced with upcycled carbon fabric (decorated by Luc Rolland)
- A board mixing fiberglass and upcycled carbon fabrics
- A board mixed with linen and upcycled carbon fabrics (also decorated by Luc Rolland)
14. Clément and part of his new quiver for winter 2024/2025
The exchanges between Clément and the team (Benoit, Pierre, etc.) for evolve shapes and constructions have been decisive in delivering this new quiver. Every detail has been thought out to offer it the best possible performance. So, see you on the waves to follow this season which promises to be grandiose!
